The WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) is globally recognized as the international standard in wine qualifications. We offer WSET courses that are ideal for new or established wine industry and hospitality professionals, as well as wine enthusiasts who are seeking to excel their wine knowledge.

Course Description
The Level 2 Award in Wines course is intended for beginner-intermediate level students who want to learn about a wide range of wines or those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style & quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence.

How environment, grape-growing, winemaking and maturation options influence the style & quality of wines made from 8 principal grape varieties

The style & qualities of wine made from regionally essential grape varieties produced in 70 geographical indications around the world

Course Details
Classroom Course – $850 (includes study pack, instruction, printed material, wine tasting (>30 wines), and exam)

Prerequisites: None​​​​​​​​​. However, you must be at least 21 years of age to attend the course and to participate in wine tasting.
​
Course Delivery: A multi-day in-person class that includes 16 hours of instruction time, 11 hours of independent study time, plus the examination. To learn more about what we will cover during the class, check this out: WSET Level 2 in Wines Specification (2022).

Assessment: A closed-book, 50 multiple choice question examination to be completed within 1 hour. The assessment will take place on the last day of the class, at the end of the day. You must earn a 55% to pass the examination:

Pass: 55% – 69%

Pass with Merit: 70% – 84%
-
Pass with Distinction: 85% and above
All students who pass will be issued a WSET certificate and a lapel pin.
